As I was getting ready for my grandmother’s funeral, I found a box of love letters my grandfather had written to her when he was in the army during WWII. His legacy. One I could hold. He sent her a bus ticket to where he was stationed and a request for her hand in marriage. My grandmother took her dreams and that bus ticket and rode from Utah to New Mexico to be with him. They were married for 66 years.

She believed that even during war, love was worth the risk. And that’s what good photography can do. Capture the moment when everything changed. When a young girl from Utah believed that her man in the army was worth it. When two people decide to spend their lives together. This is my why.

When people ask why I do what I do, that’s what I tell them: to preserve your legacy as you dreamt it. I take your story and turn it into your storybook.

This is Erin Langford Photography, and this is about your love. Your dream. Let me capture the magic.
